We are the creators of many best-selling children’s books, including School for Dads, illustrated so joyously by the brilliant Ada Grey and the George’s Amazing Adventures series, illustrated by award-winning illustrator Lee Wildish. Our stories are published in many languages throughout the world, illustrated, edited and published by collaborators we love. Our books even pop up in places like the CBeebies Bedtime Hour! We perform at major UK literary festivals such as Hay and Edinburgh and travel all over the world, performing and giving talks on writing and creativity.
Adam was born into a family-run school of performing arts in Leicester. As a musician and songwriter Adam studied performing arts and performed in a 10-piece Latin pop band for most of his twenties before moving on to sports journalism and primary school teaching. His love of teaching led him to training teachers with Voluntary Services Overseas on the Tanzanian island of Zanzibar which is where he net Charlotte…
Charlotte says she doesn’t come from anywhere because she moved around a lot when she was growing up. She always wanted to be a writer and worked as a bookseller before training to teach English as a Foreign Language. This took her to the Czech Republic and Ukraine, before she headed to Zanzibar to teach English to student nurses. And that’s where she met Adam!
After their Zanzibari adventure, Adam and Charlotte moved to Oxford where Charlotte started working in publishing and Adam became writer-in-residence at the Roald Dahl Museum before co-founding Storytelling Schools, an international organisation dedicated to training teachers in oracy, literacy and creativity.
Spaghetti with the Yeti, illustrated by Lee Wildish, was shortlisted for the Roald Dahl Funny Prize, Oscar’s First Book Prize and the Sheffield Book Award. Treats for a T.Rex also picked up a GOLD Practical Pre-School Award!
